Craft beer festival takes place July 18 at new location in downtown Indy
Tickets are still available for the 20th Annual Indiana Microbrewers Festival, one of the largest and longest running beer festivals in Indiana. The event takes place on Saturday, July 18 from 3-6:30 p.m. at Historic Military Park in downtown Indianapolis. The festival is one of three annual beer fests organized by and benefiting Brewers of Indiana Guild, the non-profit trade association dedicated to supporting Indiana’s 100-plus craft breweries.
Craft beer fans can purchase General Admission tickets--which include a commemorative tasting glass, unlimited beer samples, and 3 p.m. admission--for $40. Early Bird tickets, good for entry at 2 p.m., are available for $20 more. Designated Driver tickets are available for $10. DDs can enjoy unlimited soft drinks, coffee and water, and enter at the same time as the rest of their party.
Brewers of Indiana Guild expects to sell all tickets in advance, available online only at at www.indianabeerfest.com.
“This is the first time Indiana Microbrewers Festival has taken place outside of Broad Ripple,” said Tristan Schmid, Communications Director for Brewers of Indiana Guild. “The new venue will offer more space to enjoy hundreds of beers from many breweries, most of them from Indiana. Fans of the fest being in Broad Ripple can rest assured that we’re looking at options for smaller events there. It’s an important place for us, especially considering that Indiana’s oldest continually operating brewery, Broad Ripple Brewpub, has called the area home for 25 years.”
Broad Ripple is also home to HopCat, the premier sponsor for all of Brewers of Indiana Guild’s 2015 festivals: Winterfest, Bloomington Craft Beer Festival, and Indiana Microbrewers Festival.
The Brewers of Indiana Guild is enlisting volunteers to help at the event; those interested in volunteering can subscribe to IN Brew News emails at www.drinkIN.beer/newsletter for more information.
