To ensure a positive experience for all users and maintain the integrity of our directory and community, we ask that all submitted content follows the guidelines below.
All content submitted to IndianaOwned.com—whether for business listings, blog posts, events, or promotions—should be:
Accurate: Information must be truthful, up-to-date, and reflect your actual business, products, or services.
Respectful: Content must not be offensive, discriminatory, or inflammatory.
Relevant: Content should be directly related to your business, community involvement, or local impact.
Professional: Grammar, spelling, and formatting should reflect your business in a polished and positive light.
Your listing is your introduction to potential customers and partners. Please ensure:
Business name, contact details, and descriptions are accurate
Logos and images are clear and properly sized (recommended: 600 x 600 px for images)
Tags and categories are appropriate and not misleading
No all-caps text, excessive emojis, or special characters in business titles or descriptions
Visual content should:
Be high quality (not blurry or pixelated)
Not contain watermarks from other platforms
Be owned by you or used with proper permission
Represent your actual business, products, or location
We welcome member-contributed content, but it must:
Be original (no duplicate or AI-generated spam content)
Offer value to our audience (e.g., local business insights, community stories, helpful how-to’s)
Be non-promotional in tone—share your expertise, not just your services
Not include affiliate links or unrelated external promotions
All submissions are reviewed and may be edited for clarity, grammar, and length. We reserve the right to decline submissions that don’t meet our standards.
When submitting an event or promotion:
Include clear dates, times, and locations
Avoid all-caps headlines or exaggerated claims
Make sure your event is relevant to the Indiana community
Do not post spammy or unrelated events or links
The following are not allowed on IndianaOwned.com:
Hate speech, harassment, or discriminatory language
Adult content or violent imagery
False claims or misleading information
Copyrighted content without permission
Content promoting MLMs, pyramid schemes, or non-local ventures
Violations may result in removal of content or suspension of membership.
Indiana Owned reserves the right to edit, reject, or remove content that violates these guidelines or is inconsistent with our mission. Repeated or serious violations may result in a suspension or termination of your listing or membership.
