Join the Indiana Historical Society as they "March to the Sea"

Indiana Historical Society     Join the Indiana Historical Society as they continue their travels in commemoration of the Civil War Sesquicentennial November 4th through the 7th. During this trip, you will follow Union general William T. Sherman's famous "March to the Sea" from Atlanta to Savannah.   The trip includes a tour of Atlanta’s Cyclorama, the world's largest oil painting illustrating the Battle of Atlanta; a tour of the Antebellum Governor's Mansion, which was briefly claimed by Sherman during the March; and a visit to the Brown House Museum, once Sherman’s headquarter  s. You will also visit Magnolia Springs State Park, which was known as Camp Lawton during the war. This camp was noted as the world’s largest prison and the site of more than 13,000 Union POW deaths. The tour also takes you to Fort McAllister and Fort Pulaski.
