Our mission here at Keeping In Touch Solutions has always been to help loved ones stay independent, safe, secure and living in the place they call home as long as possible.
Most great ideas begin close to home with a defined need and a heartfelt desire to meet that need. Keeping In Touch Solutions is no exception.
It started with the family members of the Keeping In Touch Solutions founder, Diana Beam. As her parents, in-laws and others of their generation were aging, they were struggling with losing their independence and trying to maintain their independent spirit. They needed more and more attention and help. She was, just like you may be, sandwiched between trying to care for her own immediate family, working at a full-time job and taking care of her home as well as being a caregiver and advocate for her aging parents, aunts, uncles and grandparents who needed help as well.
Diana felt the guilt of being in one place and knowing she was needed in another place as well. If no one checked on the older folks daily, she was consumed with worry, and the guilt, of not being there if something happened. She felt like being roll over by a steamroller. The stress on her, her husband and children and her elderly parents was overwhelming. There seemed to be nowhere to turn for help.
That’s when the idea for Keeping In Touch Solutions was formulated. Diana knew firsthand that a single daily call to touch base with her elderly mother would mean so much. First, Mom would have something to look forward to and count on. Diana would have the peace of mind knowing someone was checking on Mom every day, and if there was a problem, she would find out right away.
Even though a personal daily call from a real human being is priceless to harried sons, daughters and their elderly parents, Diana wants the service accessible and affordable for all … which is why all the Keeping In Touch Solutions services are just that, reasonably priced and convenient.
Diana doesn’t ask you to put a price on peace of mind
for your parents and yourself …
she knows it’s priceless … and significant.
Diana Beam is the founder of Keeping In Touch Solutions. She began her career as an early childhood teacher. She transitioned into a position as an administrator in long-term care facilities. Eventually, she founded a business in which she facilitated the establishment of licensed Home Health Care agencies. During those years she was also the one her elderly family members turned to with aging problems and transition issues.
As a licensed real estate broker for more than 25 years, Diana specializes in senior real estate and relocation problems and solutions. She created Smooth Moves for Seniors, a program to assist families with Rightsizing issues and what comes next in creating the best home environment for aging folks.
As a former AARP Community Coordinator and Senior Sentinal facilitator she has been exposed to the issues families and their aging loved ones face. Families are no longer next door or down the street from one another, they are two towns or several states away; often not even in the same time zone. The guilt and concern weigh heavily on families and the loneliness and fear are palpable in the elderly folks she meets and services.
Her experiences, and the need she sees in the eyes of desperate families members and their aging loved ones lead her to create Keeping In Touch Solutions and other specialized services. Her heartfelt desire is for every person to live a happy and healthy life in the place they call home, no matter what their age. For that reason, the goal of every Keeping In Touch Solutions program is to provide a caring connection and service that both the elderly and their caregivers can rely on to make living that good life easier.
Diana and her loving and patient husband, Ron, have been married for many years. They have three grown children who have blessed them with two adored grandsons and a wonderful granddaughter.
The most recent addition to the family has been the new baby, Lulu, terrier extraordinaire!
