Established in 2012, Newfangled Confections is a contemporary return to blast-from-the-past candy with a dash of love and nostalgia in Indianapolis, IN. Candymaker Carrie Abbott’s modern take on grandma’s candy dish favorites is inspired by fond childhood memories that included many trips with her grandfather to Hook’s Drugstore in the late 1970s.
After an experiment gone deliciously right involving a peanut butter dessert Carrie created for a wedding reception, her signature candy, reminiscent of peanut fudge meets brittle, Frittle was born. Newfangled Confections, has an incredible story of the journey from “small batch” to “big box.” Carrie lives in Indy with her husband and two daughters. Located right off Mass Ave, some of the most delicious candy in Indianapolis is made at Newfangled Confections. Their signature Frittle is addicting and the Sweet & Spicy Pecans are to die for. You can find their pralines at the various Yats locations in Indianapolis...
