Meet Mallow Run Winery!
Mallow Run Winery, a well known vineyard in southern Indiana, got its start from a retirement project. Laura Richardson explains: "Mallow Run started as a retirement project for my father-in-law John; he planned to start a vineyard and grow grapes to supply other local wineries. From there, it just sort of naturally grew from a farm, to a vineyard, to a winery, to a spot known for concerts and events! It's been an interesting, fun, difficult, and rewarding ride." Although becoming an entrepreneur may not have been a conscious decision, being a local business has always been at the forefront of her mind. Laura says, "to connect and give back to our community that has shown us so much support throughout the years, and to be a meaningful place for our customers."
Mallow Run Winery is growing more than ever, and has recently opened a new venue: The Sycamore at Mallow Run. Laura says she is exited to see it grow alongside Mallow Run, and is looking forward to all the events that have already been booked there.
If you're thinking of starting your own business, Laura suggests: "Be ready to get your hands dirty in ALL aspects of the business, from scrubbing floors to balancing books!"
