The new Make It Classy product line allows women to create their own chemical-free beauty products. Each box serves as a do-it-yourself (DIY) experience and includes plant-based ingredients paired with step-by-step instructions.
“My goal is to empower women to create their own plant-based and chemical-free beauty products including facial masks, hair rinses, conditioners and body sprays in a convenient way,” said Victoria Davis, CEO of Make It Classy. “All of our DIY kits provide an experience for women and are perfect for self-care, at-home spa days, gifts and much more. By making the actual product, women are able to understand what’s actually in the product they’ll be using.”
Although not a subscription service, each box allows a woman to choose which product(s) meet her specific needs. Three beauty boxes, all named after women, are currently available, including:
· Loyal Leah DIY Clay Hair + Face Mask
· Romantic Rosie DIY Rosewater
· Herbal Ebony DIY Hair Rinse (featuring herbs from local Ezra’s Enlightened Café)
Make It Classy is a spinoff of ClassyCurlies, also created by Davis, which focuses on helping women achieve confident curls and healthier lifestyles. After teaching a variety of beauty-related classes, Davis realized it was difficult for some women to find certain ingredients or time was a factor in the creation of beauty products.
Boxes are $40 - $50 with free shipping and can be purchased online at MakeItClassyDIY.com or at select vendor shows. Additional boxes featuring new and seasonal products will continue to be released in the future.
