- Lawyer, banker, accountant, insurance agent, HR advisor
- Also consider a website developer, branding or marketing expert, and mentor
Step 3: Create a Business Plan
- Executive Summary
- Company and Product Descriptions
- Market and Financial Plans
Step 4: Choose Your Business Form
LLC, sole proprietorship, nonprofit? Talk with your lawyer and accountant. Then register with INBiz.
Step 5: Understand Your Taxes
- Payroll, income, and sales taxes
- Register with Indiana DOR
Step 6: Plan Financing & Name Your Business
Budget carefully and choose a name after researching availability at the Indiana SOS.
Step 7: Determine Location & Permits
Will you lease or buy equipment? Work from home? Make sure you’re covered with the right permits from in.gov.
Step 8: Get Insurance & IDs
Every business needs insurance. You’ll also need an EIN and state registration.
Step 9: Keep Records & Hire Smart
